death penalty

Conservatives are for the death penalty. They believe that if you do the crime you should pay for it. Liberals are against the death penalty, they believe that jail is a better option- and killing is unjust I am liberal on this issue because i believe that if it turns out the person isnt guilty- you can't bring them back to life. There have been studies shown saying that people have been found not-guilty after being killed.

gun control

Liberals believe that gun control laws should be more enforced. They do not believe that guns are helping only hurting our society. On the other hand, conservatives believe that the gun control laws are not doing anything. They believe that people should be allowed to own guns for protection. I am liberal on this issue. I think that people should not have guns and that there are other ways to protect yourself rather that guns. I think owning a gun can send the wrong signal to children.

gay rights

Liberals believe that gay people should have the right to get married in the US. Conservatives believe that marriage is only for the purpose to conceive so they shouldnt get married. Conservatives believe that it is wrong. I am liberal when it comes to gay rights. I think that all people should have the right to get married to one another- gays , straight people, blacks, whites, ect.

abortion

Liberals are pro-choice and conservatives and pro-life. Liberals believe that the government should not be in control of what the mother wants to do with her baby. Conservatives believe that aborting a baby is murder. I am a liberal when it comes to abortion. I believe that a woman should have the right to decide what she wants to do with her body.

liberals and conservatives

I think that conservatives and liberals are very different. Liberals are more open minded than conservatives. Conservatives focus more on the wealthier people and liberals focus more on the middle/lower classes. Conservatives are very traditional and usually do not change their thinking. Liberals are more laid back.

Media

I believe that we do not have anything to call our own in this generation. In this society, the media is overpowering and only cares about the money that they are making. The corporate companies dictate to us how to dress, act, ect. Teenagers emulate what the media is doing. Personally, I feel that it's sad that our generation has nothing to call its own. The media has definitely gone too far. Teenagers aren’t even making decisions with their parents anymore; they are just following everyone else. This problem matters to me because I don’t feel my generation is unique. I don’t feel that we are contributing to society like we should be. I think the marketing companies need to lay off with the advertising and focus on the actual products. Teenagers today are just focused on material things rather than what really matters.

It is definatly a shame that the people who listen to us most are the ones who are trying to sell us their product. This shows the power of the money over everything else in America. It is sad that marketing has become so over the top.

Stronger By:Kanye West

Stronger is my favorite song by Kanye. He talks about how all of the hard stuff and conflicts you have in your life can make you grow and become stronger. Also it talks about how the harder you work, the better you will be. In school, i can relate to this because the harder you work, the better you will do. Everything that you go through in life will help you out in the future.

Kayne West definetly represents the values of my generation. In this generation, hip-hop is loved by most young teenagers. Kanye's lyrics and charisma makes people want to listen to him.
Also, Technology in this generation is huge. Kayne West makes his musical beats using technology and works with other artists (Daf Punk) who also use technology in their music. Kanye West has influenced rappers to do new things with their music. He has added soul and creativity to hip-hop. Today, the values of America are to work hard and speak your mind. Kanye has worked very hard for his fans and his music career. In most of his songs, he explains the good and bad in society today, sometimes even mentioning the struggles America has had with 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, ect. Kayne West represents American hip-hop culture.

Elvis in the 50's was worshiped by so many teenagers. There are so many young pop stars and bands that are worshiped by teenagers today. Teenagers in the 1950's started to rebel against their parents and listen to Elvis. Today, parents do not understand why their children worship britney spears, chris brown, ect.

My first favorite singer

My first favorite singer growing up was Britney Spears. I first saw her music video when I was around 7. I thought she was the best dancer and so pretty. My sisters and I loved to dance and sing to all of her music! Britney was important to me because when I was younger my sisters and I looked up to her. She was the first pop star who I loved when i was younger!
